MobilChange Installation |
This document describes installation of MobilChange Server. But first read document Before Installation.
Run SETUP.EXE from the root of installation CD and select MobilChange product, then select to install the MobilChange server. The whole installation is driven by a wizard. This is the initial screen. To continue, you must select that you agree with the license agreement and terms of use. |
It is recommended to read documents about installation and preparation procedures necessary for MobilChange installation. |
Now selection of installation type follows. Express installation is simple, it autodetects your GSM hardware, name of administrator is taken from Outlook and Exchange MUST run on the same server as you are performing Mobilchange setup. Custom installation allows you to enter all data manually. |
After inserting the activation key (it consists of 4 groups of letters and numbers) the licensed components of MobilChange will be displayed and the button will allow to continue the installation. Be carreful for exchange of similar characters like "l"(small L) and "1"(one). |
Select destination directory for Mobilchange. At least 50 MB of free space must be available here. |
Enter username and password for MobilChange services.
This account must be member od local Administrators group and in case of using MS Exchange gateway must have administrative right on Exchange server. Accout can be entered as local in <servername\account> form or as domain in <domain\account> form. We recommend to always use domain account (necessary for Exchange gateway). If password is incorrect, setup shows warning dialog. |
Select e-mail gateway type for Mobilchange. It is possible to use no gateway - Mobilchange can run as standalone application.
Setup allows to install the only gateway - if you need to add another gateway, use _gateway.cmd script from Mobilchange/setup folder.
After the selection of Exchange gateway, you may be advised of detected version
OS Win 2003 SBS. In such case, the service "Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks" will be enabled automatically and registry entries will be performed. Restart is required after successful installation. Continue ->
|
Language selection will apply to texts used by MobilChange for communication with the user (message delivery reports etc.). |
The next instructions differ depending on your e-mail gateway:
|
If you have selected custom installation you can let setup to autodetect your GSM device or set it up manually. Express installation always uses
autodetection. If your activation key contains O2 SMS Connector, this driver is offered instead of autodetection. |
Serial ports are queried for device capable of sending/receiving SMS during autodetection. If SIM card is protected by PIN, you'll be asked for it. If no device is found, you must enter its parameters manually (for example when using TCP/IP driver) as described in following text. |
Select your GSM device if it wasn't autedetected.
If you are installing O2 SMS connector, follow these instruction.
|
Now select the COM port, where the GSM device is connected to. If you select automatic detection, the installer will try to find the device in the range COM1 - COM4. |
For proper MobilChange functioning it is necessary to select the corresponding GSM provider (in relation to the SIM card used for MobilChange). If the relevant provider is not in the list, select "Other (unlisted)" and you'll be asked for SMS centre number and other necessary information. |
If your SIM card is set to require PIN, enter it here. Otherwise let it empty. PIN is stored in the registry unencrypted. If you want to protect it from the misuse, set appropriate access right to the Mobilchange registry keys. |
If you are instaling gateway for Exchange 2000 or higher and you have more than one administrative group in your Exchange
organization, you must select which administrative group Mobilchange will be installed into.
This dialog doesn't appear if you have the only administrative group or you are instaling gateway other than Exchange.
The same is valid for routing groups - if there is more than one in your organization, you must select into which routing group Mobilchange will be installed. Also you must select server for Mobilchange installation, if more than one is located in administrative / routing group. |
Decide if you enable sending mails from mobile phones through Mobilchange (it is achieved by entering e-mail address in certain format at the beginning of SMS. Your Mobilchange must be connected to mail system). |
If mail sending was enabled, select which e-mail address formats are enabled. |
Enter domain part of e-mail address of your organization, if necessary. |
Now enter configuration of statistics - recipient of e-mails with statistic data and if statistics should be sent daily (otherwise they are set monthly). |
You can install Mobile Connection for Outlook if activation keys enables it. MCO can be also installed later when Mobilchange is already installed. More information can be found here. |
You can install Mobile Connection for Notes if activation keys enables it. MCN can be also installed later when Mobilchange is already installed. More information can be found here. |
Additionally you can install WWW form for sending SMS from your intranet. You must have Microsoft IIS 4.0/5.0 installed on your server to enable this. Form can be also installed later when Mobilchange is already installed. |
If you have no mail gateway, you can install WWW form for incoming SMS reading. It is the only way how to read them. You must have Microsoft IIS 4.0/5.0 installed on your server to enable this. Form can be also installed later when Mobilchange is already installed. |
Next dialogs are shown only when your activation key contains database support. Select where user settings will be stored. Commonly used option is Registry, for MS SQL or Oracle you must have activation key which allows using of database. If you use MS SQL or Oracle, you can also archive SMS and access this archive through web interface, which is installed by setup too. For more information read here. |
For MS SQL database enter these configuration data:
|
For Oracle database enter these data:
|
The last step is SMTP receiver installation. SMTP receiver application allows sending messages from SMTP server directly to MobilChange server without necessity to route message into pop3 mailbox. It also allows clients or applications to send messages directly using SMTP protocol without necessity to communicate with their own SMTP server. Select to installation SMTP receiver. |
Now it is the right time for registration through web page. The main installation begins after pressing Next. |
In the case of correct installation procedure the setup will display message window with the information about successfull completion of installation. Otherwise errors encountered during setup are sumarized here. |
It is recommended to restart your computer. |
