Problem: MobilChange stops to send delivery reports and incoming SMS after applying Exchange hotfixes

Problem description:

If you install any of hotfixes for Exchange server released during and after May 2006 (for example Security Update for Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (KB912442)), delivery reports and incoming SMS will not be delivered to the users. However SMS can be sent from Outlook and they are delivered successfuly.

Problem is related to these Exchange versions:

These messages are logged in application log:
ERROR: Additional information: Operation completed successfuly
INFO: Additional information: rc = MAPI_E_NO_ACCESS
ERROR: MAPI error: Can't send message..
ERROR: Error processing message!

Solution:

Problem is caused by right changes in Exchange (Full Mailbox Access right is not enough to send message, you need also Send As). How to set rights into functional state:

Create/set the following registry entry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\EXAdmin
Value name: ShowSecurityPage
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1
Start Exchange System Manager and show your organization properties (object at the top of hierarchical tree - click by right button - Properties).
Security tab is here (if missing, stated value is not set correctly - it must exist on the PC, where System Manager is run). Check Send As and Receive As settings for all user groups, which Mobilchange service account is member of (usually it is Domain Admins, eventually Enterprise Admins) - these groups must not have Deny checked, so change setting if necessary. Activation of new rights takes some time - about 15 minutes according Microsoft, but in reality it can take longer time, so wait some time and restart all Mobilchange services. Then DR and incoming SMS should be delivered as before.

In common it is better if service account is not member of any group, which has explicitly denied Send As, Receive As rights.
