Which faxmodems are "recomended"?
Datasys recomend modems with Class 2 protocol
(lower CPU usage) and with voice (DTMF) capatibility.
How to switch faxmodem between Class 1, Class 2 or Class 2.0 operation?
Find item "fixclass" in registry HKLM/Software/Datasys/FaxChange/Line#/class2
key, where # stands for line number. And here, you can enter:
"0" = Class 1, "1" = Class 2, "2" = Class 2.0, "" = autodetect.

DTMF | (Analog) Can receive DTMF signals (ie. PABX from switching board). |
Class 1 | (Analog) Uses Class 1 protocol for FAX communication. |
Class 2 | (Analog) Uses Class 2 protocol for FAX communication. |
Class 2.0 | (Analog) Uses Class 2.0 protocol for FAX communication. |
