Problem description:

If you are using Exchange gateway so that Outlook profile is used for connection to FaxChange_SERVERNAME mailbox (entered in registry value HKLM/software/datasys/faxchange/global/exchange/mbagent_profile - see KBFX20011123-142558HOR record), the following three messages can be logged into eventlog under specific circumstances:

1. Unspecified error
2. Additional information: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress
3. Additional information: rc = MAPI_E_UNKNOWN_ENTRYID

Solution:

Recommended solution is like this:

1. use profile created by mailbox agent
2. repair it to be possible to run Outlook using this profile (it must be possible to send mail)
3. run mailbox agent under this profile

1. log on to Windows under the same account as used by Faxchange
2. set registry value HKLM/software/datasys/faxchange/global/exchange/mbagent_profile = _CreateProfile_ (for this you need special build of mailbox agent - it is located on the installation CD from version 4.6.01 in support\FaxChange\debug folder. Backup original fxMb.exe and replace it by file from mentioned folder)
3. start Faxchange.Gate.Mail service
4. service terminates by non-standard way, but it creates profile with FaxChange-Gate-Mail_1 name or similar
5. rename that profile and set this new name to mbagent_profile registry value - see above
6. repair profile to be usable in Outlook
7. restore original fxMb.exe and start mailbox agent service (Faxchange.Gate.Mail)

Further information:

This problem can arise after upgrade to Office 2003, when new profile created under Outlook 2003 leads to the described error. But mailbox agent works correctly with "old" profiles created under Outlook 2000.
