Problem description:

Document (Word, Excel, any other type) can't be converted on server.

Solution:

If this problems happens with one document, we can recommend to print to the client printer. This is way, how user can control printing exactly and can easily check what happened.

if you want to find out why conversion fails or all documents of the same type cannot be converted follow these steps:

1. Log on to computer where service FaxChange.ConvertBig running under the same account as FaxChange.ConvertBig service runs.
2. Document of type, which can't be converted save to some folder on disk. Open this directory in explorer select this document and right click on them in displayed popup window choose "Print".

   "Print" is not present in menu? = you don't have installed application which can convert documents on the server.

   Print failed = Application is not configured properly.

3. Stop service FaxChange.ConvertBig and set service startup to disabled.
4. From command prompt window start program faxchange/convert/big/bin.4/fxcnvbig.exe with param -debug. Document convertor now running in consloe window and writing information what currently doing.
5. Send new fax with "problematic" document.
6. Convertor will start print document using associated application for printing. You can see application on desktop and probably some dialog window (e.g. "Today tip") will be displayed. Look at this window -- where is the problem (misconfiguration message...) and try to fix them.
7. If application displying dialog and print not started convertor try press dialog default button.
8. Stop running convertor ("Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Break") set FaxChange.ConvertBig service startup to "Automatic" and start it.

If you want to consult your problem with Datasys use the same steps with minor modifications:

• After starting converter run in console window click on left top corner window icon, coose "Properties", "Layout", "Screen buffer size" set to 9999.

• When conversion is done/fail switch to convertor console window and press "Pause" key. After that click on left top window corner icon, coose "Edit", "Mark". Select all window content (including scrolled lines) using mouse and press "Enter". (This copy window content to clipboard). Paste content of Clipboard ("Shift-Insert") to email message for Datasys support. As attachements send as screen shots of displayed dialogs (capture screen: "Alt-PrintScreen", paste it "Shift-Insert" to any graphic editor [paint...], save as bmp, gif...).
