Configuration and usage
You should configure client before use. This operation doesn't need to be always necessary - for example when user handles the only line
or the only level2 application. Configuration can be reached after right mouse button click on the phone icon in system tray area.
A menu appears with these items:
- Applications - contains another submenu with list of running level2 applications (clients). If there is check mark next to
application name, this application is active (it responds to the phone events) - as far as it isn't disabled in its own menu.
- Options - contains another submenu with the only item Line for dialing, where you can select
line for making outgoing calls. List of available lines depends on PBX connection type and on Callchange server settings.
- Exit - quits the client. It has result in exiting all level2 clients, because they depend on level1 client (on services it
offers).
Client can be used after configuration. User is offered simple interface for dialing calls; main function is level2 clients support.
Client window is displayed after left mouse button click on the phone icon in system tray area.
Available controls:
- Number editbox - enter phone number here you want to dial.
- Dial button - dials a number entered in "Number" editbox. If your phone (line for dialing in configuration) is
hung before dialing (on-hook state), it begins to ring and after picking-up called party will start to ring. If your phone
is picked up before dialing (off-hook state), called party will start to ring immediately.
- Cancel button - hides application window.
- Paste from clipboard button - inserts clipboard content into "Number" editbox.
- Paste + Dial button - inserts clipboard content into "Number" editbox and dials a call.
Both last mentioned functions are usefull if there is a phone number stored in the clipboard.
When number is dialed, phone on line for dialing rings and after picking up call is created and other party rings. Some PBXs
do not support this function on analog lines (MD110 - handset must be picked up before dialing). In such case administrator
must set parametr DIAL_AFTER_INITIATE=1 in line configuration and dialog prompting user to pick up the phone appears during dialing.
