What you need to know before installation?
It is necessary to know these information before you begin CallChange installation:
- Information about PC - OS type, computer name.
- Information about accounts - name and password of Windows administrator and service account.
Installation demands account with administrative authority, so you must log on under this account
before starting setup. Service account is used by individual CallChange services for logging on to
Windows. Also this account must have administrative rights - must be able to read and write to the registry.
We recommend to install CallChange under the same Windows account in which context CallChange services
will be run.

What applications should be already installed
Requirements described here are related mainly to CallChange server; if they're related to client, it is mentioned explicitly.
- If you are installing standard component with MS Outlook integration, you must have Outlook installed and mail profile
configured, which will be used by CallChange for its function.
Outlook must have CDO component (Colaboration Data Objects) installed.
CallChange clients using standard component must have e-mail client installed (Outlook with CDO component / Lotus Notes - tested
with version 6.5 and 7.0) according your e-mail system.
- It is necessary to have MS Internet Explorer version at least 4.0 installed, otherwise setup can not be run.
If it isn't found on your computer, setup offers you to install MSIE from the installation CD. This requirement
is related also to the clients.
- MS SQL server 2000 - CallChange uses it to store configuration data and information about calls. SQL server can be installed
locally or on another server in your network. If you do not have SQL, you can install MSDE (setup offers this option).
- For SQL database initialization you need ADO (Active Data Objects) installed - if you do not have it,
install it from
\support\odbc\english
folder of your installation CD. Run MDAC_2.8.EXE and
Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe programs here. If you do not do this, setup detects missing ADO libraries and starts
ADO installation. This operation can request server restart.
- Internet Information Server - it is necessary for web administration application installation. IIS must be installed locally.
- Drivers for communication with PBX - some connection types may need to install additional SW, which can be obtained from your
PBX vendor / manufacturer. These connections are concerned:
- TAPI - you need TAPI drivers for your PBX (related to client; can be related to server also, if phone lines are
monitored on the server, what is allowed by some TAPI providers)
- XAPI - XAPI server must be installed
- MD110 - Application Link is required
- Ericsson BussinesPhone - Bussiness Link is required
- Siemens HiPath (HiComm) 4xxx - you need Siemens CAP
Use directions from SW vendor for drivers installation.
- Windows Scripting Host - CallChange server needs WSH version 5.6. If necessary, setup upgrades WSH to current version.

Information about individual configurations
CallChange can be installed in different configurations. Read all information related to your configuration.
Operating system
Both CallChange server and clients can be installed on Windows NT 4.0, 2000, 2003 a XP operating systems.
We recommend to patch OS by current service pack.
Older systems (Windows NT 3.x, Windows 9x/Me) aren't supported a setup quits installation, when such system is detected.
Client e-mail software for MS Exchange Server
Client side of CallChange (standard component) cooperates with MS Exchange client. Outlook 2000 and higher is supported,
Exchange client 4.0/5.0 doesn't work with CallChange.
Maybe Outlook 97 and 98 also works, but these versions weren't tested.
Installation disk - network installation
CallChange installation can be started from local disk (CD-ROM) or from mapped network drive -- disk must have letter assigned.
Installation from network folder specified by UNC path (for example shared CD-ROM drive opened through "Network Neighbourhood /
Network Places") is not possible.
Hardware
Minimal configuration (only CallChange runs on the PC):
- Processor: Pentium 100 MHz
- Memory: 64MB RAM
- Disk space: 20 MB + 20 MB for database
Most important is amount of available RAM. We can say if CallChange is installed on the server where other applications run
(Exchange, SQL...), you should add at least 32 MB RAM.
We recommend at least Pentium II (Celeron) 300 MHz with 128 MB RAM or better computer.
