How to Send a SMS Message
The process of SMS message sending from the Exchange Client or from the MS Outlook
is the same as that of sending an ordinary electronic mail message.
- Use the command Compose - New Message for creating a new mail message
- Select the addressee using the To... button. If the addressee is not yet included in your
address book, then create a new SMS address
or
fill address in form [SMS:number] (e.g. [SMS:603220110])
- Fill in the Subject field.
- Write the text of the message and press the Send button.
- MobilChange will remove characters with diacritics from the text and will
substitute them with characters without diacritics. Text longer than one standard
SMS message will be divided into several shorter messages. For more information about
automatic division of messages see the "Send Options" section.
- MobilChange will deliver a SMS message delivery confirmation
or fail report into the Exchange client.
(This service must be supported by the GSM network operator).

Delivery Confirmation/Fail
This option can be found in the "Message Properties" window
and only applies to the just processed message.
The "Send Options" dialog enables selection of this option
either for the just processed message only
or for this and all subsequent messages until a new setting of this option is made.
Then you need to select whether the delivey confirmation is to be sent to you or not.
Approach to the delivery confirmation requirement:
- If this option is selected in the
"Message Properties" dialog the setting in the "Send Options" window
is not relevant and the confirmation is sent anyway.
- If this option is not selected in the "Message Properties" dialog
the setting in the "Send Options" window is relevant.
- If this option is selected in neither of the above dialogs
the delivery confirmation report depends on the administrator settings
(delivery confirmation yes is the default option).

Action - MobilChange Message Processing
"Actions" controls the manner of MobilChange message processing before sending.
If none of the options is selected the message is sent
(as if the first option "Send" was selected).
- Send -
The default option is send the message. If the message text
is longer than the maximum SMS message length it is divided into more
SMS messages. If the number of thus created SMS messages is larger than
allowed by the system administrator, the message is shortened (truncated).
- Send if shorter than system limit -
SMS is only sent if the number of the SMS messages resulting from
the division of the original message is smaller than the limit defined by
the system administrator. If the message is longer than the allowed limit
MobilChange will send an electronic mail to the user informing him
that the message has exceeded the allowed limit and has not been sent.
- Send if shorter than XX SMS messages -
SMS is only sent if the number of the SMS messages
resulting from the division of the original message equals to or is smaller
than this number. The limit set here is subordinate to the
limit defined by the administrator. If the limit is exceeded the program
behaviour is the same as in the case of the "system limit".
- Preview only - do not send -
SMS is not sent. The sender will only receive a report from MobilChange
showing the message format (headers, division into individual SMS messages etc.).

SMS Format
The sent SMS message can contain the sender's electronic address,
and the information about the total number of SMS messages
into which the message has been divided.
Such a SMS message is in the formalised format.
The format can be selected by pressing the Add Headers button.
If you wish to send the SMS message without headers and without additional
changes select the option
No modifications to message text.

Other options
Normal message / display only
- Send normal message - sends standard SMS message.
- Send "display only" message - sends SMS message which will be immediately displayed on phone display and it will not be stored in phone memory.
This option is not supported by Motorola d160 and some other old phone models.
On these other phones are such SMS messages processed as any other "standard" messages.
Tested with Nokia 6110, Siemens C35i and Alcatel OTC.
Reply request
- Don't request reply - sends standard SMS message.
- Request reply - mobile phone display "reply is requested" message after reading of the SMS message and forces user to send a reply message.
- This option is now supported only by Ericsson mobile phones.
Other models don't process this tag - they ignores it. SMS message is then correctly delivered as normal message.
It is not possible to combine "display only" and "reply requested" options! In this case the message is delivered as "display only" message.
