| MobilChange overview |
MobilChange is a system that creates a link between the mobile phone network and your computer network using SMS communication.
MobilChange is directly equipped with a gate to e-mail systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes or common SMTP servers. These gates allow a direct connection into your mailbox.
To make access into your mailbox easy you can use the Mobile Connection for Outlook superstructure for MobilChange . This application allows you to fully work with your Microsoft Outlook from any place in the world with no extreme costs. If you wish to make the control of your mailbox perfect you can use the T-Mobile SIM Toolkit application and you will be able to control the mailbox using a comfort menu in your mobile phone.

With MobilChange you can send and receive SMS messages in the Microsoft Outlook environment. Users are notified about messages being delivered in the SMS center and subsequently they receive a message delivery confirmation on their mobile phones. If the message is too long, MobilChange can automatically split it into several short messages. Answers from mobile phones are automatically routed to mailboxes. Also, it is possible to direct incoming messages to the shared folders of the Microsoft Exchange server.
With integration in the electronic mail environment, training of users is easy and fast and system administration simple.
The environment for sending and receiving messages is identical to the one for e-mailing and faxing, therefore it simplifies operation from the user side and minimizes training costs.
On the server side, MobilChange is integrated via a connector. It creates a new address type - SMS.
MobilChange can send SMS delivery confirmation to mobile phones. Senders receive confirmations in their mailboxes (this feature must be supported by GSM operators).
MobilChange allows to split a single long message into several SMS messages, the maximum number of messages can be controlled by administrators.
MobilChange is a server application which does not license its clients. After the server license is purchased and the application installed, users can immediately use the server services.
None of the Datasys™ Unified Messaging System™ products require client installations. All add-ons are automatically installed when the system is used for the first time. To enable operation only the server installation is required.
When you send SMS messages using e-mail or the Web interface, delivery is never guaranteed. With regard to transmission of sensitive data, there is the danger that such data will get to an undesired person. These drawbacks are eliminated by the implementation of a dedicated SMS server using MobilChange.
Hardware for Sending
Currently, MobilChange supports many hardware devices. These are industrial types of mobile phones connected to PCs via a serial port or as a PCMCIA card. We recommend especially Siemens M20 Terminal a Siemens TC 35 Terminal modules. List of all supported modules you can fing in Mobilchange documentation.
GSM Line Module
Besides the hardware devices sending SMS messages via SIM cards, MobilChange supports connection with the GSM network provider using fixed lines. This solution is suitable for implementation of applications with high-volume SMS traffic such as bank systems - GSM banking.
MobilChange is designed as a fully open system which can be easily integrated with other information systems mainly because it uses the fully open environment of the Visual Basic script. Incoming and outgoing SMS messages can be processed with the VB script.
Visual Basic Script
The Visual Basic script is ideal for development of similar applications, especially because it allows fast operation modifications or application add-ons. Another advantage of the script is its simplicity - e.g. administrators can write their own applications even after a short training.
Dedicated Applications
In order to implement dedicated applications MobilChange can be installed even without its integration in the e-mail system - MobilChange allows completely independent operation.
Outlook Mobile Connection - Easy Access to E-mails, Contacts and Schedule
With MobilChange you can obtain data from mailboxes of the Microsoft Exchange Server. Users can, through SMS messages, obtain information from their mailboxes, i.e. they can have an easy access to their contacts, schedules and e-mails.
Retrieval of data is enabled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Primarily, the solution is cheaper, faster than telephone network connections via modems, and at any location where the GSM network is available.
GSM banking
MobilChange supports direct connection with GSM network providers, thus MobilChange can be used for applications processing high volumes of SMS messages, such as GSM banking applications.
SIM Toolkit and MobilChange
In order to simplify data access through SMS messages, use of SIM Toolkit applications is recommended. With these tools, you can make the most frequent tasks easier by placing them in the mobile phone menu. This option greatly improves work with MobilChange.
GSM Line Module
The module securing connection of MobilChange with the GSM network provider allows you to receive and send SMS messages via fixed lines on the TCP/IP protocol basis.
Collection of data from various meters can be very expensive, but also quite time consuming. Regular drives to the measurement locations make the process of data collection for centers rather lengthy, consequently, fast response to e.g. limiting data is nearly impossible. As a result, the data become statistical data, but from the strategic point of view, they are of no use. Prompt utilization of data is a must, if the collected data is to be used for strategic purposes. For example, water level readings (e.g. rivers) - measurements can be performed once in a while, but meters must be personally checked and the obtained data delivered to the center. With SMS messages, you can automatically transmit messages to the center where they are automatically processed by MobilChange - stored in the database. The database content can be easily displayed for example on the Internet, or it may be accessed by another application.
With this system, you can directly ask a device to provide the current water level status, or during a flood period, river water levels can be promptly evaluated to allow flexible response to the current situation.
