| How much disk space is required for a fax database? |
How much disk space is required for a fax database? What size SQL device is necessary for it? In order to answer these questions we analysed the in-house fax database in Datasys (SQL). The results are as follows:
| Total number of faxes in database (received and sent): | 6805 |
| Size of database (engaged in the SQL device): | 239 MB |
Because approximately the first 500 faxes was archived without TIF image (report about fax only) the average size of one archived fax is 40 kB.
It is necessary to note that within these calculations were included faxmailings in which is included a cover page for each addressee (described in detail here). The data content of a fax is, however, archived once only and is used by each addressee fax.
