Problem: | How to defragment MS Access database? |
Problem description:
Thanks to the content fragmentation takes MS Access more disk space than it is necessary. Database defragmentation had to be done manually before. FaxChange 4.0 brings a new tool for automatic database defragmentation.
(This problem appears only in MS Access DB.)
Solution:
In the directory FaxChange/setup/bin
you will find program CompactDB.exe
. It is necessary to start it on the server, all Faxxchange services using DB (Server, Router, OCR) must be stopped and disabled.
You can use this batch either FaxChange/setup/bin/_compact_db.cmd
, which stops all
FaxChange services, does the DB defragmentation and then starts the services again. Once more - the
batch must be run from the server.
Further information:
FaxChange/data/database/
) before running it.
