Problem description:

MDaemon is good and cheep (shareware) SMTP/POP3 server for Windows NT, delivering all features needed for small company including connection to ISP via one SMTP/POP3 mailbox.

How to configure FaxChange/SMTP for cooperation with SMTP/POP3 server MDaemon?

Solution:

Easy configuration is on MDaemon server side. There are some restrictions -- MDaemon can (simply) accept only following kinds (formats) of fax address:

Name <nuber@fax>
Name/Company <nuber@fax>
Name/Company/department <number@fax>

this formats are supported by MS Outlook Express and Netscape Mail. MS Outlook 98 does not support this format.

Configuration description

In MDaemon program select in menu "Gateways" part "New". Their four pages configure this way:

On last tab stop after setting Name and password, you must press button "Create/Update account".

Further information:

It is possible that MDaemon is able to support other fax address formats (on this depend MS Outlook 98 ussage). For more details constact MDaemon support.
