This is review of FaxChange Client printers version and their differences.
Different print technologies
There are three technologies of processing print data used in printers:
- Client printer for Windows 95/98 --
Driver is installed on workstation. Client printer exists on computer.
Tehre are no known problems with installation.
Depend on version Windows 95 / 95 OSR2 / 98 the are or not tabs for
setting print properties (depending of installed version of
UNIDRV.DLL, which is overwriten for example by MS Office installation).
- Client printer for Windows NT 4.0 --
Driver is installed on workstation. Client printer
("FaxChange Client Printer") exists on computer.
Administration rights are required for installation!
Print properties can be set always.
Driver works on both Server and Workstation
- Shared Client printer for Windows NT 4.0 --
Driver is installed on FaxChange server.
On user side printer is only connected (mapped).
Administration rights aren't required for installation,
it is enough to have right for creating directory and write down files
in /winnt/ directory.

Different sending technologies
depend on used e-mail system there are three possibilities for sending
converted documents.
- MS Exchange (MAPI) client -- E-mail send using MAPI.
Requier running client application for Exchange server, it means
MS Outlook or MS Exchange client. If client application is not running,
dialog for profile selection is displayed (if this option is selectted in
email client configuration).
- Lotus Notes client -- For sending converted document Lotus Notes
e-mail client is used.
- Drag'n'Drop client -- not directly depend on email system.
This is easy application with only one window. After printing document on
Client Printer file is dispalyed in this window and can be moved using
drag'n'drop to email client window. After successfull d'n'd original file
is deleted.
Multiple documents can be printed - in client window will be list of
printed documents. Drag'n'Drop client enable viewing files (only on computers
with installed Imaging).
Drag'n'Drop client is designed by default for SMTP/POP3 gateway because
support "any" SMTP/POP3 client (there are no standard e-mali interface).
There are no problems using this client for Lotu Notes or MS Exchange.

Package setup.exe enable install all combinations of client printers
(local / shared, NT4 / W95, MS Exchange / Lotus Notes / Drag'n'Drop.)
