fxArch, statistics

This program is used for viewing the fax archive. It allows viewing and resending faxes (if full TIF image was archived), deleting them or store them on the disk in the TIF format. Also report about faxes or fax printing is possible on the selected printer. Each type of the fax (received, sent, unsent/incorrectly received) has its own icon.

When fxArch starts, you must select if you want to connect Server (connection will be made to specified Faxchange server) or File - this selection allows you browse backuped archive - MDB file created using Database Archivation Tool.

Fax viewing

The administrator can view sent, received or all faxes. The fax type can be chosen using a button on the tool bar or from the View menu, or by using the F5 - F7 keys, respectively. Certain information about faxes are displayed in the left window (sender, recipient, CSID, subject etc.). Menu View - Columns allows you to set which columns will be displayed. When you click on a certain fax, detailed information on this fax will be displayed in the right window.

Fax searching

Searching for a fax according to certain criteria is done by the View - Filter command. The filter selection criteria are divided into the following groups: STATUS, DATE, SENT, RECEIVED. Additional searching parameters can be set for each group. You can use the Edit - Select command to mark a group of faxes based on the same criteria.

Operations with faxes

You can do the following operations with archived faxes:

view (if full fax is archived)
delete
save on the disk in TIF format (if full fax is archived)
send (if full fax is archived) - a new message window will appear containing a file with TIF extension as attachment. Then you can use the same operations as for sending a regular fax.
print fax, report about fax or both, or when some faxes are selected, you can print list of faxes (or list with reports). List of faxes can be saved into file in RTF format. Work with lists of faxes requires Word or Wordpad installed.
Printer can be selected in Fax... menu.

You can choose command for operation with fax from Edit menu, command for printing and work with lists from Fax... menu. Many functions are available also from the toolbar.

Statistics

If you need to get statistic data about sent / received faxes, export tool for Excel is ready for you. You can find it on the installation CD in support\FaxChange\ExcelStats folder together with detailed description of configuration and usage.
First you must define datasource for accessing tFax table of FaxChange's working database, then you can open "FX excel statistics.xls" file, which uses this datasource. After selecting statistic time range data are read and displayed in tables and graphs.
