OCR module |
OCR is a module which after installation transfers incoming faxes into a readable format which is then delivered simultaneously with the fax.
Available formats of machine faxes:
If it becomes impossible to convert the fax it is delivered to the user without the attachment - success of the conversion has no effect upon actual sending. Whether the fax is converted with an attachment or with a component of textu in the message "item" maybe configured - views are setup by pre-configured values.
OCR can configure via regedit a change in configuration in the registry.
The settings of the output format of machine faxes
are as follows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Datasys\FaxChange\info\gw_formats]
"gw_e_attach"="doc"
"gw_s_attach"="html"
"gw_l_attach"="doc"
Letters between underscores mark the type of gateway for which relate to the given configuration:
"gw_e_attach"="doc,txt"Faxchange will send as an attachment 2 files, one in MS Word format, the second as a simple text. Attention, the list of formats should be written in without spaces.
Setup of the time limit for fax conversion:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Datasys\FaxChange\global\timing]
"ocr"="5000"
The time limit is in seconds.
FaxChange uses a standard library product Recognita to transfer faxes into a readable form. This product is licensed and is hardware key locked on the parallel port of the computer.
Add-on module for conversion of received faxes to text consums bigger amount of CPU time. In case you are installing OCR we recommend install FaxChange on different computer (Windows2000 Server or Professional) than MS Exchange runs. This is possible in both Standard and Enterprise versions. It is not necessary, but if you have this possibility system throughput will be better.
