CoverPreview.exe application is designed to generate thumbnails of fax headers used by the company. These thumbnails contain current information about the fax sender and recipient (e.g. email, subject, title, first name and surname, phone number, company name, division, postal address with ZIP code, country, fax number etc.).

Created thumbnails make visually an exact match with fax title pages created by FaxChange--the only difference is in their sizes.

The thumbnails are useful when a user needs a preview of individual fax title page generated using different cover sheets. Thus, in case of need, the user does not need to search for a suitable and fitting title page, create a new fax, choose a coversheet, wait for conversion completion and preview sending, nor decline the sending until the desired layout and content are achieved.

This application integrates FaxChange with company information systems that are not a standard part of FaxChange.

Running CoverPreview

Installing CoverPreview

All files necessary for installing and running CoverPreview for FaxChange are located on installation CD in the folder \support\FaxChange\CoverPreview.

CoverPreview Syntax

CoverPreview.exe (language) (server_name) (target_directory) (width) (inf_file)
where:
language - FX language code
server_name - Name of FX server
target_directory - Target directory for BMP files
width - Specifies the width of generated BMP files
inf_file--File (e.g. shared.txt) containing information about the sender and recipient which will be added to CVS.

The application renders all cover sheets (*.cvs) in the directory \\(computer_name)\FaxChange\data\cover\(language code)\ into BMP files of specified width and saves them in the target directory. (You specify the width, the height of a BMP graphic file has to be resized by the same ratio as is the width).

Running CoverPreview

When using this application, it is important to note that each converting consumes performance of the computer running it in relationship to the number of cover sheets for a given language (user language version). Server hardware configuration should therefore be suited to the degree by which users or information systems call CoverPreview operation.
